Without counsel, plans go awry.
With advisers, they succeed.
This government has a galaxy of advisers from all walks of life..freelance, commerce, industry, public service, media...and a plethora of lawyers, barristers, judges, and councillors.
Yet they still seem to get everything wrong. Why is that! It's all probably down to the inexperience and incompetence and capabilities (or lack thereof) of the present .. for a short time longer..administrators - I shudder to think of this mob as ministers. Still you get what your money pays for, don't you?
There was a lovely literary fair on the Green in Chiswick over the weekend, and it was quite good..weather excepting. Richard Briers even read from Winnie the Pooh!
I can't be very good at maths, but listen to this.
Northern Rock goes bad, and this is only a small bank in those terms, and this government loans it £55 billion to cover its mistakes.
In the US of A Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac get into difficulties with an exposed portfolio in the region £6 Trillion, and the Federal Reserve backs them with only about $15 billion.
Don't these figures seem out of whack to you? Or isn't the Pound Sterling not worth what it never was?
